Máximo Kirchner calls party meeting for elections

Buenos Aires, December 12 (NA) – The leader of La Cámpora and president of the Buenos Aires Justicialist Party, Máximo Kirchner, called a meeting of the Provincial Council of the party for next Friday in Malvinas Argentinas. The agenda highlights the call for elections to renew the party's authorities. According to the published schedule, the meeting will take place on Friday, 19th, at 14:00, at the Culture and Art House of Los Polvorines, in Malvinas Argentinas, a district governed by intendente Leonardo Nardini. Máximo Kirchner, who faces resistance from various sectors of Peronism and whose mandate expires on December 18, will seek to have the Provincial Council set a date for internal elections, which could take place in March, according to sources. While there are no candidates or interested parties positioning themselves yet, La Cámpora recalled that last year, when Máximo Kirchner's leadership was being discussed, “no one raised their hand” to challenge the leadership. “Now we will have to see if the mayors or the Axelismo faction want to play,” they said in the Justicialist Party, enthusiastic about the possibility that the criticism, which has been reserved from both Axel Kicillof's government and among the mayors, will be expressed on a party level. The agenda, signed by the Eduardo López Wesselhoefft, Facundo Tignanelli, Patricia García Blanco and Ulises Giménez, also includes a tribute to the late intendente of Berazategui, Juan José Mussi, and an “analysis of the current national political situation”.
