Buenos Aires, March 8 (NA) – Former presidential candidate Sergio Massa made a public reappearance in the province of Mendoza during the National Grape Harvest Festival (Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia), where he met with the mayor of Maipú, Matías Stevanato. "We received Sergio Massa, who visited us during the National Grape Harvest Festival, and we talked about the present of Argentina and the future of Mendoza. We were also able to share ideas about a historic achievement: in Maipú, we won a midterm election again after 25 years," Stevanato assured on his social networks. On February 22, in the municipal elections of the Mendoza locality, the local officialism managed to maintain its power: the Maipú Crece front, linked to Peronism and therefore to the mayor, won with 43.10% of the votes, while second place went to the alliance between La Libertad Avanza and Cambia Mendoza (LLA-CM) which obtained 40.22%. Despite the favorable results for Stevanato, the truth is that the municipality registered a low electoral turnout, with less than 50% of the electorate. However, the officialism achieved a certain impact in the Deliberative Council of Maipú because it was a historic election, as for the first time in 25 years they achieved a legislative victory that gave them greater strength in the municipal legislative body.
