YPF Boosts Economic Outlook with Vaca Muerta

The president of YPF, Horacio Marín, indicated that self-service fuel dispensing will reduce costs for users and streamline the refueling process. He highlighted that the giant Vaca Muerta formation is an important economic engine that will benefit Argentina and other companies, allowing for exports worth 100 billion dollars over a period of 20 years.

In radio statements, Marín emphasized that the implementation of self-service would result in a decrease in operating costs for gas stations and highlighted the importance of quickly closing contracts to take advantage of the current economic window that favors oil and gas exports. He also mentioned that YPF already has a station equipped with self-service in Luján de Cuyo, called Smart.

The president of YPF mentioned that the contract with India for the purchase of LNG could reach 5 billion dollars annually and affirmed that the self-service model can be successful in Argentina, although it will take time for users to adapt to the new system. He explained that, in the long run, self-service should be more economical than traditional dispensing, as has happened in the United States.

Regarding the international market, Marín highlighted the importance of this year for LNG exports and asserted that the company is on the right track in its negotiations. Concerning the Asian tour and market openings, he mentioned that agreements have been made with Japan, Korea, China, and India for LNG exports, with significant figures of tons to be exported in each country.
