Banfield Players Strike Over Unpaid Wages

The Banfield football team has boycotted training to protest unpaid salaries, with debts reportedly reaching up to three months. This is their second strike of the year, occurring just before a crucial 'Clásico del Sur' match.

Banfield Players Strike Over Unpaid Wages

The first team squad of Banfield did not attend today's training session in protest over unpaid wages. This is the second strike they have held this year. It was previously reported that the institution in the southern part of the Buenos Aires conurbation had debts with its coach, Pedro Troglio, and some employees. The strike is particularly notable as it comes just days before the 'Clásico del Sur'. However, an agreement was reached with the board of directors, led by president Matías Mariotto, and the players will return to the Alfredo de Palacios facility on Tuesday. The players' protest is to defend some teammates who claim to be owed up to three months of salary. In sporting terms, Banfield is in a crucial period of the season.
