In the Buenos Aires town of Lomas del Mirador, two thieves engaged in a gunfight with the police during a bank robbery. The criminals were injured and arrested after committing the robbery at the French Bank branch, from where they stole a sum of 10 million pesos on Avenida Mosconi and Cerrito.

According to police sources cited by the Argentine News Agency, the thieves approached Carlos, Luis, and Adrián Spinelli, who had withdrawn the large sum from the ATM. They then fled in a Toyota Etios, which triggered a chase by officers of the Buenos Aires Police.

The shootout between the thieves and the officers began when the vehicle was located at Mosconi and Sargento Cabral. In the confrontation, Lucas Vera was injured in his right knee, and Gustavo Vera was shot in the left calf. Both were transported to a nearby health center without life-threatening injuries.

At the scene, authorities confiscated two Bersa .22 caliber pistols with serial numbers removed and a Taurus .40 caliber pistol that was under active seizure request, additionally recovering the stolen money. They seized ski masks, clothing, and harnesses, and confirmed that the license plate of the vehicle used was not valid, having an active seizure request for aggravated robbery with the use of a firearm since November 11, 2024.

Gustavo Vera, one of the attackers, had an active arrest warrant since December 3 for the crime of evasion. Both thieves were placed at the disposal of the Justice under the charges of "aggravated robbery for being committed in a populated area and in a gang, and for the use of a firearm in a bank robbery."
