The Municipality of Lomas de Zamora is advancing with a comprehensive renovation of Laprida Pedestrian Street, one of the district's busiest commercial areas, with a package of works aimed at improving lighting, security, accessibility, and public space organization. The project includes planters with trees and native plants, with the goal of improving water absorption and mitigating thermal impact. According to the information released, the plan includes over 500 m² of green spaces in the intervened corridor. According to the Argentine News Agency, the walkway will add 2,000 m² of new sidewalks and tactile pavers for the blind, along with trash cans, containers, and a differentiated waste collection scheme. The municipality stated that the work is being carried out in stages with 'corrals' to not block access to local businesses. In terms of circulation, the commune reported that the design provides specific access for emergency vehicles (ambulances and firefighters), as well as new urban furniture: bike racks, drinking fountains, and tables and benches for family stays. In parallel, as part of the reinforcement of the local health network, Mayor Federico Otermín toured the expansion of the Integral Health Center (CIS) 'Health as a Right' in Fiorito, where four new consulting rooms, reception, waiting room, and nursing station are being built to strengthen primary care. From the local Executive, they emphasized that the combination of urban works and health improvements aims to improve nearby services and decompress hospital demand, with visible investments in high-traffic areas.
