Mega-operation against illegal drug sale in Argentina

The Tres de Febrero municipality, in conjunction with the Federal Police, led a mega-operation at an illegal fair set up in the square of the Churruca neighborhood, in Loma Hermosa. There, the sale of medicines and medical substances without any type of authorization or health control, as well as animals, auto parts, and clothing of dubious origin, was detected.

According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, boxes of drugs that required a medical prescription were seized and were displayed as if they were over-the-counter, many of them without refrigeration and mixed with other products, which poses a direct risk to public health.

Local management emphasized that the operation is part of a strategy to "close illegal sale hotspots and care for neighbors," and announced that controls on traveling fairs in the district will be reinforced.

Animals in conditions of mistreatment were also seized, and actions were taken for violations of environmental and wildlife laws.

The investigation originated from a complaint by the municipality and led to several simultaneous raids, with detainees and criminal cases in the federal orbit.
