The Aceitero Union of Capital and Greater Buenos Aires, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor of the Province, has achieved the reopening of the packaging sector at the Dánica Llavallol plant. After two months of negotiations, it was agreed that 40 workers will resume their duties next Monday.
The Llavallol plant of Dánica, belonging to the Beltrán Group, had announced its total closure in November 2024. However, after intense hearings where the Aceitero Union prioritized the defense of jobs, an agreement was reached with the company to resume production. The restart will take place on January 27, 2025, initially for 18 months, with the reopening of the margarine packaging area and an initial workforce of 40 employees.
The Government of the Province of Buenos Aires provided its support for the union's efforts and offered tools that facilitated this achievement. The defense of the Aceitero Agreement in Dánica Llavallol has been successful, ensuring that workers will continue to comply with the Collective Labor Agreement 420/05 for oil workers.
The reopening of a sector was prioritized, which will allow the return of those workers who did not accept voluntary retirement. The provincial government will contribute economic assistance through the PREBA program, on the condition that the company does not lay off any of the reinstated workers.
In a context of difficulties for the Argentine working class, this reopening represents a victory for employees who defended their labor rights. The Board of Directors of SOEIA Capital and GBA highlights the role of the union and the provincial government in this victory for the collective interests of the workers.
The traditional margarine plant in Llavallol had announced its total closure last November, but thanks to negotiations and joint efforts, the continuity of operations and the reinstatement of employees was guaranteed.
