New Progress on España Street Project in Lima

The Municipality of Zárate reported new progress on the comprehensive project for España Street, in the city of Lima. This corridor, according to local authorities, had long awaited an intervention of this scale. According to the Argentine News Agency, work was carried out on the placement of concrete on sidewalks at the intersection of España and Paraguay, in parallel with patching work on the urban section of this route. According to the official report, crews also advanced with patching at the intersection of España and Carriego, and added actions at España and 36th Street, as part of the sector-by-sector repair scheme. The intervention is part of a plan that, according to the Municipality, combines surface improvements with underground adjustments: the Municipality emphasized the commissioning of a new hydraulic network that “is already operational”, plus complementary tasks on the artery. Local management stressed that the program is being executed with its own funds and personnel, and the objective is to order the urban front and circulation in a strategic area of Lima. The Municipality anticipated that it will continue with “targeted actions” on arteries and the water network, in addition to the asphalt restoration of the sector, as new construction fronts are enabled.
