Controversy in La Rioja's Internal Elections

In La Rioja, a political dispute arises as Cristina Kirchner's representatives challenge the incomplete candidate list of Ricardo Quintela. Calls to postpone internal elections increase amid concerns about the party's preparedness.

Controversy in La Rioja's Internal Elections

The Electoral Board of the Justicialist Party received a complaint from Cristina Kirchner, in which she claimed that the list of Ricardo Quintela, governor of La Rioja, is incomplete. According to the complaint filed by the representatives of the former president, Quintela's list contains candidates without DNI identification, making it difficult to verify their validity.

Jorge Yoma, current representative of Ricardo Quintela, expressed his concern about the feasibility of conducting internal elections in the short term. Given the lack of necessary operational infrastructure for a process of this magnitude, Yoma suggested postponing the elections for at least a month, arguing that the Justicialist Party has not faced an internal election of such characteristics in its history.

Yoma mentioned the need to preserve the image of Peronism and avoid possible embarrassing situations, reminding of the importance of unity in the party. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of establishing a dialogue to resolve the current situation and proposed to meet with the members of the electoral board to discuss the feasibility of postponing the elections for an additional 30 days.

In his intervention with Luis Novaresio, Yoma emphasized the need to carefully assess the voting locations, available resources, the Argentine Post, and the National Electoral Justice. He also highlighted that Kirchnerism is part of Peronism and stressed the importance of ensuring that the internal elections are conducted in compliance with all formal requirements established in the electoral regulations and supplementary norms.
