On Wednesday, April 1st, a multiple-vehicle collision involving four cars occurred in the Melchor Romero neighborhood of La Plata. Ignacio Miramón, a midfielder for Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, was involved in the accident. According to the official report accessed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), the vehicles collided on Avenue 520 between streets 169 and 170. The cars involved were a gray Audi Q3 driven by Miramón, a Volkswagen Gol Trend driven by Alejo Zárate, a Hino 300 truck, and a parked Volkswagen Fox. For reasons still under investigation, the athlete's vehicle crashed into the others, prompting a significant police operation in the area. The only injured person was Alejo Zárate, 22, who suffered injuries and was transported to the Alejandro Korn Hospital by SIES personnel. The same report stated that the young man was conscious and out of danger when he was taken to the hospital. Officers from the 14th Melchor Romero Police Station, along with experts and medical staff, worked at the scene. All four vehicles involved were seized to advance with the investigations. The case was filed as “culpable injuries” and is in the hands of the UFI No. 10 of La Plata, led by Carlos Vercellone, who is trying to determine how the crash occurred.
