Boca Juniors will face Estudiantes de La Plata tonight for the second matchday of the Apertura Tournament, and head coach Claudio Úbeda has already defined the starting lineup.
Compared to the first match against Deportivo Riestra, Úbeda would repeat both the goalkeeper, who will be Agustín Marchesín, and the defense, which will be formed by Juan Barinaga and Lautaro Blanco at the full-backs, and Ayrton Costas and Lautaro Di Lollo in the central backline.
The first change would come in the midfield, as Chilean Williams Alarcón would replace Spanish Ander Herrera, so he would join Tomás Belmonte and Leandro Paredes in that sector of the pitch.
The other change would be mandatory in the forward line, as Alan Velasco suffered a knee sprain and will be sidelined for at least two months.
In his place will be Kevin Zenón, who will have the main objective in this 2026 to establish himself in the "Xeneize".
His partners in the attack will be Exequiel "Changuito" Zeballos, who was Boca's standout player in the final stretch of 2025, and Lucas Janson, who will once again be the makeshift number 9 in the absence of Milton Giménez and the Uruguayans Edinson Cavani and Miguel Merentiel.
Boca comes from a correct debut in the Apertura Tournament, as they won 1-0 at home against Deportivo Riestra, while Estudiantes de La Plata rescued a 1-1 draw away to Independiente.
The match between Estudiantes and Boca will be covered live by the Argentine News Agency.
This is how Boca would line up against Estudiantes de La Plata: Agustín Marchesín; Juan Barinaga, Lautaro Di Lollo, Ayrton Costas, Lautaro Blanco; Tomás Belmonte, Leandro Paredes, Williams Alarcón; Kevin Zenón, Lucas Janson and Exequiel Zeballos.
Manager: Claudio Úbeda.
