Eduardo Domínguez Interested in Ramiro Funes Mori

Eduardo Domínguez, coach of Estudiantes de La Plata, has reached out to River defender Ramiro Funes Mori, expressing interest in signing him for the current season. Mori has not featured in any calls under Marcelo Gallardo and may consider a move. Despite the closed transfer market domestically, an external sale could enable Estudiantes to sign new players until March 12.

Eduardo Domínguez Interested in Ramiro Funes Mori

The technical director of Estudiantes de La Plata, Eduardo Domínguez, contacted River's central defender, Ramiro Funes Mori, to express his interest in having him join the team this season. Although Funes Mori, 33 years old, has been training with River, he has not been called up by the coach Marcelo Gallardo, which could open the possibility of his departure from the club.

Domínguez expressed his desire to have Funes Mori as soon as possible, which could influence the player's decision regarding a possible move to 'Pincha'. Although the local transfer market is closed, the sale of any member of the Estudiantes squad abroad would allow for new signings until March 12.

River would agree to let Funes Mori go, who has not reached the expected level since his return to the club in 2023. The defender, who was trained in River's youth system, has a contract until December 2026. For now, Domínguez's interest has been just an informal approach to understand the player's situation, without a formal offer on the table.

On the other hand, Estudiantes is awaiting the possible arrival of funds from American businessman Foster Gillett, in collaboration with the club's president, Juan Sebastián Verón, which could influence future signings.
