Trial against Felicitas Alvite delayed

The oral trial against Felicitas Alvite, better known as Toretto, who is accused of running over and killing motorcyclist Walter Armand, is delayed. It has been reported that the third preliminary hearing will not take place until mid-February 2026. Flavio Gliemmo, the defendant's lawyer, confirmed to the Argentine News Agency that a new date for the third preliminary hearing was set to continue the analysis and review of the evidence presented by all parties for the trial. The hearing will be held on February 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Oral Criminal Court No. 2 in La Plata. According to the information provided, this date was set "due to the busy schedule of the Court, as well as some of the intervening parties". As has been the case, the hearing will be held in person, with the attendance of the prosecution, the plaintiff, and the defense. The young woman is under house arrest and is charged with simple homicide with eventual intent, which carries a prison sentence of 8 to 25 years. On that fatal night, it was confirmed that Toretto was driving at over 90 km/h and ran several red lights, until at the intersection of avenues 13 and 32, she struck Armand, causing him to be thrown into the air and die minutes later in the hospital. Valentina Velázquez, Toretto's friend, is also accused in the case for street racing in the city of La Plata.
