Kicillof demands investigation into $Libra case and warns of link to President

The governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, led the celebrations for the 143rd anniversary of the city of La Plata at the local racetrack, where he highlighted the recovery of the venue and launched criticism at the austerity policies of previous administrations.

Kicillof demanded a "thorough investigation" into the $Libra case and warned of its link to Milei.

In an interview with Noticias Argentinas on Splendid AM990, Kicillof celebrated the turnout of "17,000 people" at the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha.

"The demand for food... and medicines has quadrupled... because you've seen what's happening at the pharmacy, all of that falls on the provincial government," he explained, criticizing the national government for "leaving PAMI beneficiaries without their medication."

Libra and the "President's Circle"

Asked about the investigation into the Libra pyramid scheme, Kicillof was unequivocal: "They have uncovered a plot (...) Unfortunately, the President is involved."

"The Budget will depend on the participation of everyone," he stated, recalling that he needs two-thirds of the votes to approve basic funding.

Kicillof described his administration as "the most austere" and the one that "spends the least per capita," but warned of the difficult social situation.

"Today I can say that the prize is also for the Racetrack," he affirmed, highlighting that horse racing is "a productive activity" that involves many families.

The Budget Request and Criticisms of the Nation

On the political front, the provincial leader referred to the need to approve the provincial budget in the Legislature.

"When we arrived, it was a ruin (...) a monument to neglect, a monument to apathy, and that has to do with those austerity policies regarding the public, the retreat of the State," he concluded.
