According to the Argentine News Agency, based on initial testimonies, the victim died from hypovolemic shock after suffering a deep cut to the neck, which resulted in massive blood loss. "She lost a lot of blood," a judicial source cited by TN said, detailing that Franco "fought for her life." These elements led the Justice system to reclassify the case as "homicide during a robbery." The murder was discovered on Saturday by a friend of the victim, who called 911 after finding the body in a pool of blood. This man was detained preventively due to his close relationship with Franco (he managed her bank accounts), but he was released and is currently not under investigation. Currently, the Buenos Aires Police is focusing on reviewing public and private security camera footage in the area to reconstruct the events that led to the tragic crime.
The psychiatrist presented cuts on her hands and forearms, clear signs that she tried to protect herself from her attacker. "It was a violent death," added the same source.
