Justice for Kim: Community March in La Plata

Prosecutor Carmen Ibarra reported that Judge María José Lescano decided that the accused of the fatal attack on Kim Gómez will not be placed under a security measure until it is determined in which institution he can be housed and under what treatment. Evidence has been presented suggesting that the accused did not participate in the incident. This is based on the statement of Florencia, who did not recognize the other person present at the scene, on security camera footage, and on an examination of the car that found no fingerprints.

The alleged 17-year-old accomplice will remain in preventive custody for 180 days until his legal situation is resolved. In honor of Kim, a march took place on Sunday. The Justice of La Plata decided that the 14-year-old minor, one of those accused of the crime of Kim Gómez, will remain under security measures.

Judge Lescano rejected the prosecutor's request for the offender to continue under that security regime until reaching the age of majority and postponed the setting of a deadline. The minor was accused of being a co-author of the robbery and homicide of Kim. Neighbors and family members of the girl gathered to demand justice and showed support to Kim's parents, Marcos and Florencia, with drawings and messages of solidarity.

At the end of the gathering, pink and white balloons were released in memory of Kim. The protesters held signs demanding justice and greater police presence in the area due to recurring episodes of insecurity.
