In February of this year in La Plata, a teenager was arrested after stealing a car in an incident that ended in Los Hornos. Although the prosecutor in the case, Sabrina Cladera, took no detention measures against him or his three accomplices aged 14, 15, and 16, she ordered their immediate release and that they be returned to their parents or legal guardians.
Three weeks later, the oldest of those involved in that incident turned out to be one of the murderers of Kim, the 7-year-old girl. It has been suggested that if the prosecutor had acted differently, the crime could have been avoided. Judicial sources have confirmed that it will be investigated whether prosecutor Cladera acted irregularly in the case.
The Office of the Attorney General of the Province of Buenos Aires, led by Julio Conte Grand, has initiated a process against Cladera. The case is being handled by the Secretariat for Disciplinary Control and Prosecution, under the responsibility of Miguel de Lezica. A judicial spokesperson mentioned: "Our goal is to corroborate the actions of the prosecutors; if there are irregularities, there must be sanctions." An administrative inquiry has been opened against the prosecutor who released the 17-year-old detainee on February 1, 25 days before the crime of Kim Gómez.
