Emilio Ayerdi Funes, one of the witnesses who collaborated in the case of Héctor "Chocolate" Rigau, has recently reappeared at a march in La Plata. This young man was among the protesters who were demonstrating against the murder of Kim Gómez, a seven-year-old girl who was brutally killed by two underage criminals. Ayerdi, who also provided relevant information about the political financing of the Buenos Aires legislature in relation to the Rigau case, expressed his frustration regarding the lack of security measures and justice in the region.
In statements to the press, Ayerdi accused local political figures such as Julio Alak, the PRO, and Unión por la Patria of their inaction in the fight against insecurity. He denounced that these actors had voted against allocating budget for improving security in the area, prioritizing other less urgent aspects. He stated that corruption and links to mafias have created a climate of impunity that affects the daily lives of citizens.
The young man also referred to the case of the Albini family, alleged leaders of a local criminal network, who have been detained since November 2023. Ayerdi pointed out that fear of retaliation is preventing these individuals from revealing crucial information about their illegal operations. Additionally, he warned about the continuation of criminal activities in the area, such as suspicious money withdrawals from ATMs, which demonstrate a lack of control and surveillance by the authorities.
In a related event, Emilio Ayerdi Funes had been interviewed by media outlets, including the TN network, during the concentration in front of the La Plata City Hall. In this context, he reiterated his call to action to demand justice and effective measures against crime in the region. With his participation in the march and his public statements, Ayerdi seeks to maintain attention on the issues of security and corruption affecting the community, urging authorities to take responsibility and implement concrete measures to protect citizens.
