Felicitas Alvite, known as "La Toretto", faces accusations of running over and causing the death of motorcyclist Walter Armand in La Plata. It was recently determined that she will serve house arrest without an electronic bracelet, indicating that her transfer is imminent. Lawyer Flavio Gliemmo informed the Argentine News Agency that Chamber 3 established new guidelines allowing this measure for Alvite.
The issued document states that the house arrest will be without an electronic bracelet, which will expedite her release in the coming days. It is notable that approximately eight months have passed since her detention, a relevant factor according to the cited jurisprudence: "It is undeniable that approximately eight months have passed since the defendant's detention."
Regarding her trial, La Toretto will face charges for the incident that occurred in April of last year, when, along with a friend identified as Valentina Velázquez, she participated in clandestine races in downtown La Plata. Velázquez will also be tried for the crime of "participation in a speed or skill test with a motor vehicle."
