An 88-year-old retiree was the victim of a robbery in her home in the town of La Plata by four masked criminals. The incident took place on Monday night at her residence located at 11 between 36 and 37, after forcing open a back gate to enter the house.
The assailants bound the woman, stole money and other valuables. During the robbery, one of the criminals threatened her with a firearm, while another held a screwdriver to her neck. The victim was forced to lie down on her bed, covering her face with a blanket and a cushion.
After ransacking the house, the criminals took a cell phone, a set of keys, and an amount of money that the woman, in shock, could not specify. She later managed to call for help by shouting out the window, alerting a neighbor who contacted the police.
Despite the prompt intervention of the authorities, the criminals had already fled. The case was categorized as "aggravated robbery" and was referred to the corresponding prosecutor's office, which ordered the review of security cameras in search of clues about the attackers. During her testimony with the investigators, the woman described the terror she experienced: "It was the worst minutes of my life. They pointed a gun at me and covered my face with a blanket."
Indignation and concern spread through the local community in response to this criminal act, highlighting the vulnerability of the elderly and the need to strengthen security in the area to prevent future similar incidents.
