
In the city of La Plata, a vehicle accident occurred between a gray Toyota Hilux truck and a Ford Fiesta car, resulting in a crash that ended with the truck on top of a kiosk. As a consequence, one person was injured and had to be hospitalized.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux, identified as Simón Luciano Herrera, 35 years old, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the accident, with a blood alcohol level of 0.80 during the breathalyzer test. He was arrested for "culpable injuries" at the 9th police station in La Plata. The truck initially hit the parked car and then collided with a group of people at the kiosk and a passing motorcycle.
The incident occurred at Avenue 1 and 72, leading to the intervention of the emergency service SAME, as well as a request for police support to protect the truck driver from potential assaults. The presence of firefighters was also required due to a fuel leak from the vehicle.
Four adults were injured in the accident and were treated by SAME on site. One of the injured, identified as Jorge Omar Estévez Coreana, was taken to Rossi Hospital for medical attention. The Operations and Monitoring Center (COM) made repeated calls for traffic personnel to be sent to the area.
