In La Plata, a 28-year-old young man died on Tuesday after remaining hospitalized for several months due to a serious traffic accident that occurred in the Buenos Aires locality of Villa Elvira, city of La Plata. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the incident occurred on October 5, 2025, when officers from the Patrol Command received an alert about a traffic accident at 609 and 117, where a black Peugeot 208 car (license plate NFO-300) had crashed into a post and overturned into a ditch. Outside the vehicle, an unconscious man was found, while another occupant remained trapped inside, which is why Villa Elvira firefighters worked on the rescue, and both were urgently transferred to health centers. Initially, it was reported that Gustavo Javier Cata, 54, had entered the San Martín Hospital with injuries and was later discharged, while Martín Esteban Ormeño, 28, was referred to the Rossi Hospital with severe injuries and assisted with mechanical ventilation. Authorities confirmed Ormeño's death, who had been hospitalized in reserved condition at the San Martín General Hospital since the day of the accident. The death was communicated to UFI No. 10, which ordered supplementary records and the intervention of the morgue. The cause, titled 'Injuries from an accident', continues under investigation with the intervention of the Traffic Accidentology Office.
