A 68-year-old woman was the victim of a robbery in the town of La Plata during the early hours of Sunday. The incident took place at her home in City Bell when two criminals forcibly entered, assaulted the woman, and stole the money from her pension before fleeing. The event occurred around 4 in the morning at a house on 473 street between 31 bis and 132.
The victim woke up to strange noises and when she looked, she found the thieves. Due to the violence of the assault, the woman handed over $50,000 that she had at home, which was all the money she had to live on until the end of the month. Local authorities have started an investigation into the case; however, no suspects have been identified in connection with the robbery so far.
Investigators are reviewing security cameras in the area to try to identify those responsible. This incident has raised concerns in the community, and it is hoped that authorities will clarify the case and bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible.
