The Minister of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires, Martín Marinucci, met with representatives from various chambers, such as AAETA, CEAP, CEUTUPBA, and CTPBA, to discuss the optimization of public transport services. In this meeting, the importance of considering entrepreneurs within this complex equation aimed at improving routes and the comforts offered to users was highlighted.
In this context, emphasis was placed on the need to update the cost structure of public transport with a sustained level of subsidy. In response to the current situation, the Transportation Chamber of the Province of Buenos Aires (CTPBA) announced the suspension of bus services starting next Sunday. As of Monday, reduced services will be provided from 6:00 to 22:00 on provincial and municipal lines in the AMBA.
The measure of service suspension was justified by the "non-payment of tariff compensation intended for the salaries of our workers." The CTPBA has warned several times about the lack of resources to operate sustainably, reaching the conclusion that current costs are insufficient and outdated.
In an official statement, the entity explained that the decision to reduce services aims to efficiently rationalize operations and avoid harming passengers. Despite this announcement, Minister Martín Marinucci met in La Plata with representatives of the chambers operating in the Buenos Aires territory to address the complicated situation of the public transport sector.
Marinucci expressed the commitment to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for every passenger, assuring that they seek a balance that protects users and allows for the development of the activity for the benefit of the community.
