Argentine Court Orders Arrest of School Janitor for Abuse of Student

In Argentina, a judge ordered the arrest of a janitor from the Marcelino Blanco school in La Paz, Mendoza province, for sexually abusing a 14-year-old minor who barricaded herself in the educational institution with a weapon in September 2025. According to the Argentine News Agency, the arrest took place after the minor recounted that the janitor had abused her at the school. This was confirmed during interviews with professionals from the Interdisciplinary Technical Team (ETI) following a crisis episode. The teenager has been under psychological treatment since she barricaded herself in her school last September and is under the supervision of two professionals who support her through an emotional blockage. This has led to the dismissal of the grooming hypothesis, and it is suspected that the minor may have specifically sought out the worker who allegedly abused her, although he was not at the school at the time because he was not on duty. On September 14 of last year, the minor went to the school with a 9mm caliber pistol belonging to her father, an officer in the province of San Luis. The student fired three shots into the air, and there were no injuries, while her classmates remained sheltered in classrooms awaiting the situation to normalize. After more than five hours of tension, officers from the Incident and Kidnapping Resolution Group (GRIS) brought the situation under control, the girl handed over the weapon and was taken to a hospital, where she was hospitalized with her parents. The teenager reportedly pointed the pistol at her classmates, who received assistance for nervous breakdowns.
