A brutal femicide attempt occurred in the city of Junín when a man shot his partner in the head in front of their children. The young woman is in serious condition, and the attacker has been arrested. The incident happened early Tuesday morning at a residence on Chile Street at 137, when the victim and the aggressor got into a fight. During the argument, the man took out a gun and shot her in the head. This all took place in front of their children, according to the Argentine News Agency. The police were alerted by the attacker himself, a 25-year-old man, who claimed that his partner had been attacked by a third party in a public place. However, when the officers arrived at the home, they found the woman conscious with a gunshot wound to the skull and immediately rushed her to a local hospital. The prosecutor, Fernanda Sánchez, head of the UFI No. 6 of Junín, decided to detain the accused, even though the victim stated that he was not her partner. For the judicial authorities, this statement is linked to a context of gender violence. A key detail is that during the initial investigation at the residence, the weapon used and the suspect's cell phone were found in a chimney. At the hospital, local media confirmed that the bullet was lodged in the brain parenchyma. The man is being held at a police station in Los Toldos, accused of attempted femicide.
