Suspect Forced to Apologize in Prison for Camila's Murder

Enzo Ariel Q., one of the two criminals detained for the murder of Camila Elena Rocha, 24 years old in Ingeniero Budge, was beaten and threatened in prison by other inmates who filmed him. In a viralized video on social networks, Enzo is seen against a wall, responding to orders from his cellmates.

"To the mother, to the father, to everyone..." Enzo said at one point, interrupted by a slap. He was wearing the same shirt he had on when he was arrested. The inmates forced him to apologize to the victim's family. "Really, I’m sorry," Enzo repeated while being filmed. Then they demanded that he say he was "a fool," something to which he agreed.

During his moment of intimidation, Enzo mentioned his accomplice, Santiago M., 18 years old. However, this statement is not valid against him until reiterated before the Justice. The two criminals were captured by agents of the Argentine Federal Police while escaping on a bus to Formosa, after departing from the Retiro station hours after Camila's murder.

In the tragic incident, Camila and her partner were approached by the criminals on bicycles with intentions of robbery. In the face of resistance to the assault, a struggle ensued which culminated in a fatal shot to the young woman's chest, causing her death instantly. The Functional Unit of Instruction and Trial (UFIyJ) number 7 of Lomas de Zamora leads the investigation, charging the two assailants with aggravated robbery, homicide, and attempted homicide.

During his time in prison, Enzo was filmed asking for forgiveness from the victim's family under coercion from other inmates. The validity of his statements will have to be confirmed by Justice, while he and his accomplice face serious charges for the tragic murder of Camila.
