In Gregorio de Laferrere, a bus and a truck transporting animal fat collided, leaving several injured as a result, including a woman who suffered the amputation of her right arm. The accident occurred at the intersection of Route 21 and Cristiani Avenue when a bus from line 180 was struck by the truck.
The shocking images that went viral show dozens of injured people lying on the sidewalk and inside the bus, as well as remnants of bones and animal fat scattered around the area, the cargo the truck was carrying.
According to witnesses at the scene of the accident, the scene was chaotic and distressing, with people calling for help and trying to get to safety. A neighbor in the area stated: "It was terrible, I had never seen anything like it. The screams of pain were heartbreaking."
Local authorities are investigating the causes of the crash to determine the corresponding responsibilities and take preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
