Five Arrested in Argentina for Murder Over Theft Suspicions

Two men and three women were arrested in the Buenos Aires province town of General Rodríguez. They are accused of beating to death a 28-year-old man suspected of stealing a gas canister. According to police sources reported to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the incident occurred on November 23 when authorities received a 911 alert about a fight at the intersection of Balcarce and Lavalle streets. The victim's father, Lucas Alanis, died at the scene from injuries to his face. In this context, officers from the DDI Moreno-General Rodríguez interviewed residents, and a woman provided a video of the attack. At the same time, the residence of one of the alleged perpetrators was located. The prosecutor in the case ordered a police cordon at the home on José Rondeau, between Alvear and Lavalle. There, 35-year-old Maximiliano Nicolás Fernández was identified, who claimed he had come to the property to look for his sons, apparently implicated in the crime. Other testimonies stated that Eduardo Ángel Seguezza (27) and Rubén Darío Seguezza also participated in the murder, leading the prosecutor to order a raid on the property. Clothing similar to that worn during the incident was seized, but no action was taken against the suspects. Officers continued the investigation, including analyzing the databases and social media of the individuals involved, who were identified as Lorena Maricel Garnica (49), Milagros Micaela Aragón (22), Camila Jeanette Seguezza, Tomás Mariano Seguezza, and Eduardo Ángel Seguezza. The arrests of Garnica, Aragón, and Eduardo were carried out on Saturday, December 20, while Camila and Tomás were arrested this Monday, December 21. All detainees were made available to the Court of Guarantees No. 1 of General Rodríguez and the UFI No. 1 for the crime of 'aggravated homicide'.
