
A minor aged 15 was driving a van on Route 7 in General Rodríguez when it collided head-on with another car, resulting in the death of the driver of that vehicle. The deceased driver was identified as Néstor Daniel Muñoz, 53, who died after being taken to the Vicente López y Planes hospital.
According to local media reports, the accident occurred when the Ford EcoSport van, carrying a 15-year-old teenager and a 21-year-old man, veered into the opposite lane at high speed and collided head-on with the Volkswagen 1500 car. After initial investigations, it was determined that the minor was the one driving the van.
Despite the minor's responsibility in the accident, being underage, he is considered not liable and cannot face charges for involuntary manslaughter. However, as a precautionary measure, it was ordered that he remain in custody at a juvenile facility in the province of Buenos Aires. The young man was questioned by prosecutor Alejandra Piqué, head of the Juvenile Responsibility Unit No. 6 of the department.
The tragedy has generated shock in the local community, and authorities are working to clarify the circumstances that led to this fatal outcome.
