Buenos Aires, March 19 (NA) – A police officer serving as the head of a police station in the Santiago del Estero city of Frías has been removed from his position after publishing intimate photos in his WhatsApp status. These images were seen by authorities from the Department of Citizen Security No. 7, with whom he had permanent contact due to his role as a station chief. Additionally, the photos were seen by family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and subordinates, according to a report from Nuevo Diario Web accessed by the Argentine News Agency. The incident was reported to the Police Headquarters, which ordered his immediate removal from his post. Meanwhile, it was indicated that the police chief is at the disposal of the General Directorate of Human Resources to analyze the officer's actions and issue sanctions if necessary, as it is being investigated whether the publication was deliberate or if he intended to send the images to one of his contacts but ended up posting them in his status. The aforementioned media outlet noted that police sources indicated that the officer could be sanctioned under the provincial General Law for Police Personnel No. 4.794, which regulates the rights, duties, labor stability, disciplinary regime, and situation of uniformed personnel. In this sense, they may consider Article 191, clause 7, which states: "Any other act that seriously affects the prestige of the institution or the dignity of the official," or Article 190, clause 13, which states: "Any other act that seriously affects the discipline or responsibility of the institution".
