In support of the Lof facing eviction orders and judicial proceedings, a vigil will be held this Friday at the Esquel Courts, starting at 7 PM, in solidarity with Victoria Dolores Núñez Fernández, the only person currently detained after raids on 12 communities in Chubut.
Victoria was arrested in the Lof Pillan Mahuiza, Corcovado, where there were reports of violence during the authorities' incursion. After her detention, her image was broadcast without any formal charges made by the National Security Ministry or the governor of Chubut.
Despite the lack of concrete evidence, Victoria was charged with alleged participation in a fire at Estancia Amancay, based solely on the presence of a vehicle similar to hers nearby. Five Mapuche women, including Victoria, are facing judicial processes, while the raids on indigenous communities continue.
As a result of these situations, a vigil is called to demand the release and the dropping of charges against Victoria Dolores Núñez Fernández, as a demonstration against the criminalization of the fight for land and in solidarity with the affected Mapuche women and diversities facing state repression.
The importance of presence at the Esquel Courts, where repressive measures are organized, is highlighted to show unity and solidarity in this cause. Additionally, a call for reflection on the persecution of those defending territory is made, emphasizing collective strength as a path towards justice and freedom.
In summary, this Friday's vigil seeks to highlight and demand the release of Victoria Dolores Núñez Fernández, a victim of a judicial process without solid evidence and in a context of criminalization of indigenous land struggles. Solidarity and collective strength are vital to confronting repression and building a future of dignity for all affected communities.
