Successful Rescue Operation in Esquel

In the city of Esquel, two women who had lost their way on Cerro Escalera were successfully rescued in an operation involving various municipal, provincial, and national agencies. The Government of Chubut, through the Undersecretariat of Citizen Protection of the Ministry of Security and Justice, coordinated the operation under the direction of Eduardo PĂ©rez.

Based on the GPS coordinates provided by the lost women, the Immediate Action Plan (PAI) was activated, and the Incident Command System was established at the base of the hill to guide the rescue teams. After a thorough search, the women were contacted at 3:20 a.m. at the top of the hill.

Because the women ran out of battery on their mobile phones, communication became complicated, delaying the intervention. However, at 5 a.m., the rescue team managed to find them and bring them back to the operational base, where they were in good health.

The rescue was carried out thanks to the collaboration of institutions such as the Esquel Delegation of Civil Defense, the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Esquel, the National Gendarmerie, the Regional Unit of the Police of Chubut, Volunteer Firefighters, and the staff of the local hospital. Chief Commissioner Hugo Melipil was in charge of the Police Commission during the operation.

In summary, after a large-scale operation, both women were found during the early morning hours of Thursday in good health.
