Justice and the Buenos Aires Police are investigating the death of a 14-month-old baby in the town of Ensenada due to signs of abuse and sexual abuse injuries. The child's parents and uncle have been charged in the case. The case came to light on Tuesday when the child was taken to the Gutiérrez Hospital in La Plata. The baby presented with convulsions and died minutes later at the health center. Doctors indicated that the child showed signs of abuse and injuries in her intimate areas compatible with sexual abuse. At the request of Prosecutor Martín Almirón, the child's parents, Miguel Angel Allende, 31, and María Jimena Vieras, 24, as well as the child's uncle, Lucas Tomás Allende, 27, have been charged. The case has been filed as “investigation of the causes of death,” and the result of the autopsy on Wednesday will be key to advancing the investigation.
