Governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro, participated on Saturday night in the 66th edition of the traditional Strawberry Festival, in the city of Coronda, where he emphasized that 'the only way for Argentina to move forward is to produce more'. Pullaro noted that 'that is why we have to start discussing the Argentine tax system again'. He stressed that 'we need all taxes -national, provincial and local- to be lowered to be able to produce more', and called for a more equitable distribution of resources that today, he said, 'are concentrated in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area to the detriment of the productive interior'. Pullaro expressed his agreement on the need for a general reduction in taxes, insisting on the cases of withholdings and the check tax, 'two very regressive taxes for the Argentine Republic'. Regarding labor reform, he reiterated the need for 'a look from the perspective of SMEs and also from workers, fundamentally to be able to employ people who are today in the informal sector. 50% of Argentines work, but in the informal sector. We need to produce more, and for that we need better roads, energy and logistics infrastructure, ports, airports and connectivity that allow us to get our products to the world and lower production costs to be able to produce cheaper'. Asked about the reforms promoted by the national government, particularly the tax one, Pullaro firmly stated that withholdings (which the national state collects) 'are the most regressive tax in the Argentine Republic'. We are very pleased: the province of Santa Fe is driving the economy and growth of the Argentine Republic'. The governor reiterated that the productive interior needs more attention from the national state. In this line, he argued: 'The province of Santa Fe contributes about 3 billion dollars a year to the National State, and unfortunately nothing comes back. We need to incorporate them into the formal labor market'. Regarding the tax reform, Pullaro expressed his agreement on the need for a general reduction in taxes, insisting on the cases of withholdings and the check tax, 'two very regressive taxes for the Argentine Republic'. Governor Maximiliano Pullaro participated on Saturday night in the 66th edition of the traditional Strawberry Festival, in the city of Coronda, where he emphasized that 'the only way for Argentina to move forward is to produce more'. Accompanied by Mayor Ricardo RamÃrez; the Minister of Equality and Human Development, Victoria Tejeda; of Economy, Pablo Olivares; of Culture, Susana Rueda; the Secretary of Institutional Management of the Ministry of Justice and Security; Virginia Coudannes, and the departmental senator Leonardo Diana, the provincial leader toured the exhibition and spoke with local producers. During his visit, Pullaro highlighted the importance of strengthening Santa Fe's production as a driver of national development: 'From that place we have worked on a plan with 40 productive tables that have allowed us to improve'. 'We are constantly asking the National State and the different governments to be able to look at the province of Santa Fe, which contributes so much and receives so little. He also announced that 'if this happens and Argentina grows, we commit to also lowering Gross Income, something we understand is fundamental to continue boosting production'. Regarding the penal reform, Pullaro was categorical: 'It must look at penalties from another place, not from the guarantor aspect as until now. The person who commits a crime has to pay in prison and not have any type of privileges'.
