A player from Club Barrio Ardiles was arrested for causing serious injuries after attacking a referee following the final of the B category match against Club Villa Las Rosas in Córdoba. The incident took place in the Los Eucaliptus area. After the final whistle, the 25-year-old footballer Ramiro Javier Carreras lunged at the 36-year-old referee José Olguín and punched him in the face, causing severe injuries. A medical examination confirmed a double jaw fracture and the loss of dental pieces. The police confirmed the attack and arrested the player, who was taken into custody.
