Luis Adolfo Galván, world champion with the Argentina national team in 1978 and greatest idol of Talleres de Córdoba, passed away at the age of 77. Galván had been hospitalized for a month at the Reina Fabiola Clinic due to an infection that ultimately led to pneumonia. Born on February 24, 1948, in Fernández, Santiago del Estero, Galván was a key figure in the defense of the team led by César Luis Menotti that was crowned champion in the 1978 World Cup, held in Argentina. He also participated in the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
With a total of 503 official matches, Luis Galván is the player who has worn the Talleres jersey the most times in two different periods: 1970-1982 and 1986-1987. His legacy lives on in the history of Argentine football, being remembered as a symbol of a golden generation and as a solid defender, respected and beloved for his dedication, humility, and career.
