The Talleres de Córdoba team will face Independiente this Wednesday as part of the second round of the Apertura Tournament of the Professional Football League. The match, which will take place at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium and will start at 5 p.m., will be officiated by referee Facundo Tello and broadcast by TNT Sports.
Talleres, under the direction of Alexander 'Cacique' Medina, comes from suffering a 1-0 defeat against San Lorenzo in their first match. Despite showing dominance on the field, the team failed to capitalize on its opportunities. Nevertheless, the goal of the Córdoba team is to remain one of the standout contenders in Argentine football, following their excellent performance in the Professional League last year.
On the other hand, Independiente had a good start in the tournament by beating Sarmiento de Junín 2-1. Under the direction of Julio Vaccari, the team has established itself as a tough rival, managing to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana 2025. With the hope of a good campaign and ending more than two decades without local titles, Independiente faces the absence due to injury of Santiago Montiel, one of its key players.
Talleres lines up with Guido Herrera; Miguel Navarro, Juan Rodríguez, Juan Portillo, Gastón Benavídez; Matías Galarza Fonda, Matías Galarza, Juan Portilla, Sebastián Palacios; Rubén Botta and Nahuel Bustos, under the technical direction of Alexander Medina.
Independiente, for its part, lines up with Rodrigo Rey; Adrián Sporle, Sebastián Valdez, Kevin Lomónaco, Federico Vera; Iván Marcone, Felipe Loyola, Lautaro Millán, Luciano Cabral or Federico Mancuello; Gabriel Ávalos and Diego Tarzia, with Julio Vaccari as the technical director.
