January has come to an end, leaving very positive numbers for the economy across the country. Córdoba was one of the provinces that benefited the most, surpassing its own statistics. According to official data, the growth in visitors is almost 4 million people. Different destinations in the Punilla valleys, such as Calamuchita, are the most popular, with peaks of 90% occupancy during the week and full capacity on weekends.

According to information obtained by the Argentine News Agency from the Córdoba Tourism Agency, this mountainous province is one of the most chosen by tourists this summer. To date, 3.5 million people have visited the province, which represents nearly 9% more than in 2025. During January, the province of Córdoba received 3.5 million people, generating a significant million-dollar sum in tourism revenues. “Our task is to accompany all visitors and tourists, the private sector, and each municipality to improve day by day everything our beautiful province has to offer,” added the provincial head of tourism, Capitani.

During the week, occupancy rates remained around 80%, increasing to 90-95% on weekends. Villa General Belgrano visits can climb up to 97%. The same is true in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, where the rate reaches 90%. In the Miramar and surrounding areas, the figure also does not drop and remains above 90% with full capacity every weekend. In Traslasierra, Nono is around 80% general occupancy and climbs to 95%.

The comparative picture shows an increase of 300,000 visitors in the province compared to last summer, generating a considerably greater economic income, with the tourist movement leaving almost a trillion pesos. “Summer continues, and so do expectations,” the statement says. “Without a doubt, we are starting February with great expectations; we have a great schedule of attractions where the different carnival celebrations stand out.”

According to Darío Capitani, president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency, “Córdoba has a clear differential with the rest,” basing his argument on the rich calendar of festivals and parties that give life to internal tourism as well as the rest of the country. Regarding zonal tourism, in Córdoba, weekends have gained value and great attendance, as the weather was favorable and unplanned getaways were the protagonists. Villa Carlos Paz is one of the main localities that marks the tourist entry to the province.
