In Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut province, a man opened fire at an 18th birthday party inside a house and ended up in a shootout with a police officer. According to the Argentine News Agency, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, around 4:50 AM, in a house near the Roque González road. A large number of guests were celebrating at the location. Fifty meters from the house was the police post on the Roque González road, with an officer inside. The individual was apprehended and taken to the police station. A police officer, who was in the patrol post about 50 meters away, heard people running and the sound of gunshots. He requested backup and went to the scene. Upon entering the yard, he confirmed the presence of numerous people, apparently under the influence of alcohol, and saw a man holding a firearm. At that moment, the officer asked the man to drop the weapon, but instead of complying, he pointed the gun at the officer and fired. Therefore, the officer fired a warning shot into the air to get the aggressor to stop, but, with the weapon in his hand, the man ran to the back of the yard. While the confrontation was taking place, a man from the upper floor of the house fired a shot towards the street. The bullet shattered a glass and hit the abdominal area of another young man, who was immediately assisted by another person. When police backup arrived, they saw this third subject on the upper floor of the house, and he threw a firearm under a bed.
