The Argentine Army, along with the Armed Forces and the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE), is deploying humanitarian aid in Comodoro Rivadavia following the displacement caused by the Hermitte hill landslide, which led to the evacuation of over 300 people. According to the Argentine News Agency, this operation in the Chubut province has been named 'Operation Hermitte' and involves the preparation and distribution of 300 food rations at three distribution points, with priority given to the Sismográfica, Marquesado, and Los Tilos neighborhoods. The tasks include logistical support, community assistance, and support for emergency services activated after damages to homes and infrastructure, which resulted in the evacuation of over 90 families and the continuous monitoring of the affected areas. On Tuesday, a Federal Police plane will join the efforts with its USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) brigade, including command officers, engineers, an architect, a pilot, a co-pilot, and mechanics. In parallel, the Armed Forces continue to provide sustained support to the affected localities in the province due to the forest fires, reinforcing reconnaissance, supply, ration preparation, and logistical support for the brigades operating in the area.
