In Patagonia, in the province of Chubut, works of great importance are underway, so the transit of heavy vehicles is restricted indefinitely. According to Noticias Argentinas Agency, National Viality began work on National Route 3, replacing a stormwater drain, and consequently diverts traffic to carry out the work peacefully and provide road safety to users. The work takes place at kilometer 1833, within the urban area of Comodoro Rivadavia, on a key section of Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue, between Juan B. Justo and Ramos Mejía. The intervention is carried out in coordination with the Municipality of Comodoro Rivadavia and aims to improve the drainage system, prevent flooding, and strengthen road safety in a high-traffic area. While the works are underway, circulation for heavy vehicles remains restricted until the authorities reopen the passage. This is due to the complexity of the work and the need to preserve the integrity of the pavement and the operating equipment. Alternative routes to travel on Route 3 in Comodoro Rivadavia include using Provincial Route 37 and then Provincial Route 26 to travel north-south and vice-versa, an itinerary defined to organize traffic and minimize conflicts in the intervened area. For light supply vehicles and passenger transport units, circulation is permitted via internal detours in Comodoro Rivadavia, always respecting signage and instructions from personnel stationed at the site. National Viality emphasized the importance of following the instructions of the authorities carrying out the preventive closure, as these measures aim to reduce road accident risks and protect both users and workers. In addition to the current impact on circulation, the project represents a long-term structural improvement, optimizing the hydraulic capacity of the sector and reducing the probability of future damage to the road. Recommendations for safe travel include planning trips in advance, considering extra travel time, and staying informed about the progress of the work as part of an operation to reinforce road safety and urban infrastructure.
