A 53-year-old Uruguayan citizen has been extradited to Argentina, accused of being part of a criminal gang operating in the country. The group stole over $20 million from a business. According to Noticias Argentina (NA) and as indicated by the National Prefecture, the crime occurred in the city of Colón, in the province of Entre Ríos, when this individual and other men stormed the premises. The investigation revealed that while his accomplices forced the lock with an angle grinder, the accused acted as a lookout. Once inside, they stole the money from the safe, in addition to a CPU, and fled the scene. The Colón Guarantees Court, led by Judge Dante Command, requested the location of the suspect from the Federal Police's Division for the Investigation of Fugitives and Extraditions, who issued an international arrest warrant via a Red Notice. Police officers in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo determined that the fugitive had multiple criminal records in his country and was located and arrested in the Eastern Republic. Following diplomatic efforts, the neighboring country's authorities granted the extradition, which was carried out in the last few hours via the General José Gervasio de Artigas International Bridge, connecting the cities of Paysandú and Colón.
