The governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio, stated that the synthetic fuel refinery planned in Paysandú “has to be relocated” and warned: “We cannot allow another Botnia.” Frigerio noted that he held several meetings from the very beginning with Uruguayan authorities to make “clear the position” regarding the project. In this context, he indicated that it was achieved that “the environmental impact study includes Colón” and that the provincial government will continue “very closely its conclusions to define the next steps”, according to what the Argentine News Agency was able to learn. “Yesterday in Colón I made something very clear again, we cannot allow another Botnia,” the Entre Ríos governor maintained. He also emphasized: “The commitment we assumed from day one is to defend the interests of our province and that is what we are working on.”
