Two men have pleaded guilty to the crime of possession of child sexual abuse material and were sentenced to four years in prison in the province of Río Negro.

According to information from the local Public Prosecutor's Office, the incidents occurred in August 2022 in the city of Choele Choel, where the defendant was accused of possessing "an undetermined number of photographs and videos related to the MASI technique".

The investigation began after an alert was issued by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) of the United States.

In the second case, registered in General Roca, three similar incidents were established: the defendant posted two videos of rapes of minors on WhatsApp servers, in addition to providing access to two videos and receiving 17 others.

In turn, the intervening prosecutor ordered a raid, during which a telephone was seized that was analyzed by the Office of Telecommunications Investigations (OITel) and it was confirmed that the device contained 17 recordings of pedophilia.

In this context, the MPF and the Official Defender agreed that the responsible parties be sentenced to four years in prison.

In Choele Choel, the guilty party was sentenced for "possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, as an author, in an ideal concurso between them", while in General Roca, the accepted legal qualification was: "possession of child sexual abuse material aggravated by the victims being under 13 years of age in a real concurso with facilitation of child sexual abuse material aggravated by the victims being under 13 years of age".
