
Eight police officers were injured and stung after two men threw bees at them to prevent an eviction in the province of Salta. Following the attack, both were arrested and charged for their actions. The unusual incident took place at a home in El Barrial during an eviction involving personnel from the Civil and Commercial Court, Labor and Family Court of Cafayate.
According to the police report, the two individuals arrived at the scene in beekeeper suits and boxes filled with bees, which they threw at the officers to hinder the operation. "Eight police officers sustained injuries from bee stings. One of them suffered a head injury from a blow allegedly caused by one of the suspects," the statement from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Salta highlights.
The police officers presented with stings on their heads, faces, necks, and limbs, requiring medical attention at a local hospital. After the attack, the two individuals attempted to flee but were arrested 300 meters away after resisting with punches and insults. The public prosecutor of Cafayate, Sandra Rojas, charged the detained individuals, aged 31 and 45, with the crime of assault against authority and minor injuries.
