The former president Mauricio Macri, 65 years old, is participating in the Senior category of the XVI World Bridge Games, where 24 teams from different countries compete. Macri has expressed his dedication to this strategic game, which he considers a passion since he left the presidency.
In an interview with the newspaper Clarín, Macri mentioned that bridge is beneficial for the mind and that he is currently partnering in the tournament with Luis Palazzo, his first teacher in this sport more than three decades ago. Furthermore, he proposed that bridge should be included in the primary school curriculum in Buenos Aires, arguing that it strengthens skills such as memory, concentration, and mathematical reasoning, which are essential for early education.
In parallel to his participation in the World Games, Macri is preparing for the World Championship in Denmark scheduled for August 2025. The global event is held at the Buenos Aires City Convention Center, starting on October 22 and ending on November 3.
