Argentine Football Player Handcuffed and Removed from Plane

An Argentine football player for Gimnasia y Esgrima, competing in the second division, faces the risk of his professional contract being terminated. He was handcuffed and removed from a plane at Buenos Aires airport. The incident occurred when the player made a comment while waiting for his team's flight to an away match. According to passengers, the 32-year-old defender, Jesus David Emiliano Andrezzi, said, "We are all going to explode." This prompted airport authorities to immediately evacuate the plane and call security teams to search for any potential threats. After confirming it was a joke, the player was arrested and handcuffed. A video of the police escorting the player, who joined the club in 2023 for a fee of around 150,000 pounds and is currently valued at 240,000 pounds, spread on social media. The incident angered passengers, with one commenting on the video: "Who is this idiot? He ruined the weekend for many families," while another said: "He should not be allowed to fly again." The incident also affected airport operations, causing some flights to be delayed and canceled due to security checks. Low-cost airline Flybondi stated this was the second such incident in 48 hours, confirming its intention to file a lawsuit against those responsible for the chaos. The club's president confirmed full cooperation with the investigation, emphasizing the seriousness of such actions: "The world is going through sensitive times, and there is no room for jokes in matters like this. We are mindful of the club's reputation; the player was on duty and represents an important institution."
