Although the match ended in a 0-0 draw, the 'Albiceleste' was able to celebrate World Cup qualification a few days later by winning away against Ecuador. From there, the National Team played another six matches at 'La Bombonera', with a record of four wins (Haiti in 2018, Ecuador in 2020, Venezuela in 2022, and Peru in 2024), one draw (Paraguay in 2020), and one loss (Uruguay in 2023). Last Friday, Argentina had a very poor performance, managing to win only 2-1 against Mauritania. During this FIFA double date, the 'Scaloneta' will play its two matches, against Mauritania and Zambia, again at 'La Bombonera'.

Buenos Aires, March 30 (NA) – The Argentine National Team will face Zambia this Tuesday, which will be its last match before the 2026 World Cup. The match will take place at the Alberto J. Armando Stadium, better known as 'La Bombonera,' where the National Team has played several matches in recent years. Despite the very positive record at 'La Bombonera,' the National Team experienced one of the most traumatic events in its history at that stadium, when it drew 2-2 with Peru in the South American Qualifiers and failed to qualify for the 1970 World Cup. In 2017, a similar episode occurred, as Argentina was on the ropes in the qualifiers and the rival was once again Peru.
